It’s a beautiful fall day here in South Carolina. It’s cool and rainy and a day which I stayed in my jammies until noon and then changed into sweats and have been crocheting ALL DAY!😊
Today I finished another baby blanket. This one is a combination from two amazing crochet designers. The blanket pattern is from Daisy Farm Crafts and the appliqué is from Nella’s Cottage. This one took me about a week to complete, but I was ready to start a smaller, quicker project after the blanket. Hence, the Hot Pad!

I love making hot pads, pot holders and dish cloths from crochet. They are so thick and really do absorb the heat well. Just make sure to use cotton yarn, not acrylic. Hot pads are nice projects for trying out new stitches too. This free hot pad pattern is one any beginner can do. Most of it is Half Double Crochet, my favorite stitch, but then I also added a Half Double Crochet Cross Stitch to add a little texture to the pattern. Here are a few more hot pads, I’ve made with links to their patterns.
