Two years ago I retired from teaching after 30 years, and my husband and I moved from California to South Carolina. That first year we flew across country to visit our family. After that first year, we got a dog. Korra is a mini Aussie Doodle and we love her to pieces, but now instead of flying, we drive across country with Korra.

We can make the trip in about 3 days. My husband enjoys driving and seeing our beautiful country. I drive maybe an hour or two each day, so my hubby can nap a little. When I am not driving, I’m usually crocheting. I use to be a terrible passenger as I usually fell asleep by the time we got to the freeway. I can’t read or look at my phone in the car because I get car sick, but for some reason crocheting doesn’t make me feel that way. Thank goodness!! So today, I have linked some small projects that don’t take much time, or space to work on in the car. Don’t get me wrong… you can work on bigger projects too, which I’ve done, but they can be a bit cumbersome in a car. So here are some smaller projects:

*** I joined a Facebook group last year called Random Acts of Crochet Kindness. People would crochet little things with notes attached and leave them in various places around town, hoping to bring a smile to whoever finds one. These worry worms are what I made for my random act of crochet kindness.

I hope you have found some ideas for new small projects for the next time you are traveling or just want something small to work on. I’ll be thinking of you all while on our next road trip!
