This comes from a Facebook post almost 3 years ago, from the Santa Clarita Valley Project Linus Chapter; a group I worked with making blankets for kids in need.

  1. The word crochet comes from the French word croche, meaning small hook.

2. Crocheting can help with stress, anxiety and depression.

3. Crochet isn’t as old as knitting as it only really gained popularity during the Victorian era.

4. The largest crochet blanket is about 120,000 square feet.

5. Unlike knitting, crochet can’t be replicated by a machine. Every piece of crochet is handmade — which makes every item that much more special.

Here is a link to a previous post I made about Project Linus.
