It’s football Sunday and my Chiefs are set to take on the Eagles this afternoon. So to pass the time until the game starts I created this Kansas City Chiefs inspired Dish Cloth. I use crocheted dish cloths every day. The texture is perfect for washing most things, and when you’re done, you wring it out and set it out to dry. Dish cloths are best made with cotton yarn, and usually I use Hobby Lobby I love this Cotton. Most of the time, these dish cloths are made from scraps or leftover yarn from other projects. Nice! Fun to make, cost effective and they last a long time.

Red – Rows 1,2,3,2
Yellow – Rows 3,2
White – Rows 3,2
Red – Rows 3,2,3,2
White – Rows 3,2
Yellow – Rows 3,2
Red – Rows 3,2,3,2,3

Border:
Row 1: First side: CH 1, turn. HDC in 1st stitch, 2HDC in CH space. (HDC in next SC, 2HDC in CH space) across. Second side: HDC in same corner stitch, then along 2nd side, HDC along the edge (I ended with 29 HDC on the 2nd side). Third side: HDC in same corner stitch, then along 3rd side, HDC in each stitch across. Fourth side: same as second side. Slip Stitch into first border stitch. CH 1.

Row 2– Crab stitch (also known as Reverse Single Crochet) simple to do, maybe awkward at first but keep going to see the border develop. To do the crab stitch:
insert hook into the next stitch to the right. Pull up a loop, Yarn over and pull through both loops on hook. It’s single crochet, working in reverse. Here is a link to a video tutorial. Continue to Crab Stitch all the way around, Slip Stitch into first stitch, Fasten off and weave in ends.

Here’s another Dish Cloth Pattern I designed. Available on Etsy.
